Event Details

This event focuses on the evaluation of the Innovation Exchange.  It it is your chance to learn more about some exciting work in the third sector, contribute to its development and to hear about an opportunity to contribute to its evaluation.

The third sector is teeming with great ideas, but too few of them change the world.    Innovators, investors and commissioners often lack each other’s phone numbers and the capacity and incentive to collaborate.  As a result, innovations get a start, but struggle for the connections and resources to sustain or scale.  Innovation Exchange exists to tackle this problem, bringing people together to grow third sector innovations.

The Innovation Exchange works as an honest broker;

  • surfacing opportunities for innovation;
  • helping innovators, investors and commissioners to connect around them;
  • and actively supporting groups to collaborate, develop and grow innovation
We are looking to work with external partners to build an evaluation of Innovation Exchange’s work that will both generate insight and momentum through the life of the project and tell a rigorous story in two years about its effectiveness and its lessons for policy and practice.  As a first step, we are bringing together academics, researchers and other experts to discuss the Innovation Exchange and the challenge of evaluation and to share their views on a draft tender for its evaluation.

The conversation will focus on:

  • The experiences of the Innovation Exchange so far and its future plans
  • The rise of ‘innovation brokers’ like the Exchange
  • A draft tender for the evaluation of the Innovation Exchange
